About DYU

Who has the time or energy to commute to work by bike these days? With smog, crowded roads, and inconsiderate pedestrians, it’s not worth it most days. Or at least it wouldn’t be if there weren’t a better alternative. The DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike is a powerful vehicle with wheels that can handle any terrain.

The bike comes from DYU, a Hong Kong-based brand that has sold more than 1 million units since 2016 and has delighted customers with its range of e-bikes. Their catalog includes folding bikes, city bikes, and powerful machines like the DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike, which I’m reviewing here.

If you want to know if this bike is right for you, read on to find out. In my review of the DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike, I’ll cover its best features, price, specs, customer feedback, and more. Before I get into those details, let’s first talk about the bike’s highlights.

Features

The DYU King 750 spoils its customers with a wealth of obvious and subtle features. Some of these are purely functional, while others change the way you can integrate the bike into your life. In this section of my review of the DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike, I will discuss all of its impressive aspects.

Tires

Since “Fat Tire” appears in the name of the King 750, I should talk about the tires first. The front tire is equipped with shock absorbers to absorb shocks from the ground, although you would have to tackle some difficult terrain to damage the tires. These tires are thick and have three C’s, which not only improves handling but also opens up more possibilities for riding.

For example, the DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike is just as suitable for sand and grass as it is for concrete and gravel. These tires create healthy friction to brake and slow down according to the rider’s requirements.

Motor

The latest e-bike from DYU is no slouch when it comes to performance. It has a 750W motor (which you probably guessed from the name), but can deliver up to 900W when needed.

The motor can accelerate you up to 28 mph. Combined with the fat tires, there should be no hill or terrain that you can’t tackle with the DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike.

Display

If all this talk of speed has you worried that you might get a speeding ticket, don’t worry. The King 750 has an LCD display that provides you with the following information:

  • Speed
  • Mileage
  • Battery life
  • Power output

Battery

The King 750 has a 48V 20Ah lithium-ion battery from LG, which is impressive in itself, but may not mean much to you if you’re reading my review of the DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike without any prior knowledge of e-bikes.

In this case, you just need to know that it can take you 80 miles, provided you pedal along. If you rely solely on the battery, the range is 50 miles, which is still not bad.

Charging the battery takes about 6 to 7 hours, but fortunately, you don’t have to plug the bike in outside your house. You can remove it and charge it indoors. This is not only more convenient, but also safer, as there is less risk of theft.

Seat and comfort

The King 750’s tires aren’t the only shock absorbers. The seat also has shock-absorbing properties, which is important for riding on bumpy off-road trails. In addition, the seat has an ergonomic design to prevent pain in the buttocks and tension in the lower back.

Materials

The frame of the DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike is made of aluminum alloy, which offers several advantages. The material is sturdy and durable, allowing users to ride the bike wherever they want. Aluminum is also relatively stable, so you can ride uphill without having to get off and admit defeat.

Unfortunately, the aluminum alloy frame does not make the bike lighter, as I will explain in the next section of my review of the DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike. Although aluminum is generally lighter than steel or other materials, the King 750 is heavy. However, this does not seem to affect the bike’s performance, as it is easy to maneuver.

Specs

As the name suggests, the DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike is built for a king. Unfortunately, this does not apply to small kings. Although according to the frame specifications, riders as short as 1.60 m can ride it, this seems a bit exaggerated. For safety reasons, I would not recommend anyone under 1.65 m to ride it, as they will not be able to control it.

On the other hand, the King 750 is suitable for riders up to 6’3″, and you need to be a certain size to balance the weight of the bike. As I mentioned earlier, this bike is a heavyweight, weighing in at almost 100 pounds (97 pounds to be exact). That’s heavier than most other fat-tire electric bikes on the market.

The bike’s tires measure at 26” by 4”, so they certainly earn the “fat” descriptor. They’re also cushy and springy, which may help climb steeper hills.

Now, let’s discuss brakes. The King 750 uses front and rear-wheel hydraulic brakes, and you’re going to be happy they’re there. Remember, this bike is big and mighty, so you want as much stopping power as possible. Thankfully, these brakes work in tandem with the bike’s tire grips to ensure safety.

Who Is The DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike For?

Since I know how large and heavy the DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike is, I would not recommend it to anyone who is lighter or not strong enough to move it on their own. However, if you are in good physical condition and at least 5’6″ tall, you should have no problems.

DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

Since this new DYU bike is so new, there haven’t been many customer reviews of the DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike online yet. I’ve compiled the available information to create an overall rating of customer feedback as of July 2023. First, here is a list of customer reviews from various websites.

  • Pogo Cycles: 5/5 stars based on 2 customer reviews
  • DYU website: 4.8/5 stars based on 6 customer reviews
  • Amazon: 4.2/5 stars based on about 15 customer reviews

As I said, there aren’t that many reviews. Nevertheless, you can see that the few reviews of the DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike were unanimously positive. I was surprised that so many of them mentioned the assembly time of the bike. Customers regularly said that it was easy and intuitive to assemble and that it took no more than half an hour.

There wouldn’t be much to write about if that were all customers had to say in their reviews of the DYU King 750 Fat Tire Electric Bike. Overall, the King 750 received high praise for its speed, comfort, and versatility on different terrains.

This is a fantastic machine. It gets me around the country roads where I live, and the electric motor is a godsend when I’m going uphill or just need to get somewhere fast. Despite the long charging time, the battery ultimately lasts quite a long time. The folding feature is also handy when I want to store the bike without it taking up a lot of space. Full marks,” wrote one buyer.

The King 750’s battery was highly praised for its long life and removability. While some customers complained that the battery takes too long to charge, they admitted that it’s worth the wait.

The bike was also appreciated by taller people who don’t normally ride bikes. One customer wrote on the DYU website:

“Nice e-bike. Fast shipping and minimal assembly required; it took me about 30 minutes to put it together. I am 52 years old, 5’8” tall, and weigh 286 lbs. With my weight, I didn’t expect this bike to pull me up steep hills. The thick tires make riding very comfortable. The battery life is excellent. I’ve taken two short trips totaling maybe 40 minutes and the battery is still full. I would recommend this bike to anyone who enjoys cycling.”

Another buyer added: “I like everything about this bike. It’s so much fun to ride around on.

Great range. Great for taller people weighing 209 pounds and very stable. Highly recommended!”

In addition, the powerful 750W motor was praised for its comfort and ability to handle hilly terrain with ease. Customers said that this made the King 750 electric bike a fun and enjoyable riding experience. These factors led most buyers to say that the bike was worth the price.

I would like to end this section with a final customer review. “I like this bike; it takes me to work and back home. I love that the battery is removable because I can take it inside to charge. And the 750W motor is so powerful that you can climb hills with ease. Now I can go mountain biking on the weekends! It’s a lot of fun to ride in pedal assist mode, and it’s worth the price.”
